Pine Inn

Step back in to time, to a hotel that embodies all that is romance. The Pine Inn, originally built in the late 1800's, is the first hotel ever built in the quaint village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. A full service, boutique style hotel, the property features just 49 comfortable guest rooms and an excellent location right on Ocean Avenue.

 

When you walk up the front, carpeted stairs to the lobby area, you get a picture of something you might find in Architectual Digest. Their reception room is absolutely gorgeous and romantic with elegant furnishings, rich colors and a large fireplace. Guest rooms vary in size from their standard rooms (a bit small but a good value and nicely furnished), deluxe rooms (marble baths and in-room Jacuzzi tubs) and guest suites. They even have a private, keyed-off Penthouse floor with a variety of suites and a shared balcony with views of the ocean.  All guest rooms are decorated with rich jewel tone colors, handsome furnishings (not the typical hotel style), armoires, window shutters, and Aireloom Pillow-Top mattresses. There is not an elevator.

 

On the ground floor of the hotel is the Il Fornaio Restaurant (a local's favorite and site of their complimentary full-American breakfast Monday-Friday) and Il Fornaio bakery (fresh baked goodies and delicious coffee concoctions). From outside their front door, you can literally walk to everything that makes Carmel such a charming place including unique shops, over a hundred art galleries, cafe's and Carmel Beach (four blocks down Ocean Avenue). If you need any assistance, their staff has been faithfully serving guest of the inn for decades and does a great job.

 

The Pine Inn has always been known as one of the best values in Carmel. The room rate includes the full American breakfast (Mon-Fri), high-speed internet access and limited parking in their private lot behind the hotel. If you want to enjoy an elegant, romantic stay in picturesque Carmel, this is a great place to stay.
