Mariposa Inn

If you're driving through Monterey, you might just miss the Mariposa Inn. That would be a mistake.

 

Just a couple of years ago, the owners of the property remodeled this property from head to toe and did an incredible job. Located across the street from our main shopping area (Del Monte Center) and just a few minutes drive in to downtown Monterey, the Mariposa is a hidden gem that is set up for a great romantic stay.

 

There are several different types of rooms from which to choose including: standard kings, luxury double queens, luxury kings, executive suites, spa suites, and two level townhouse suites. All of the guest rooms at the Mariposa feature hardwood floors (yes, hardwood floors!), luxury linens flat screen tv's, microwave/refrigerator, wired & wireless internet, ipod docking stations, coffee maker (Wolfgang Puck coffee), plush bathrobes and H2O spa bath products. Many of the rooms have a large, gas burning fireplace and their spa suites also include a huge two person in-room jetted bathtub! Guest rooms have a mostly modern decor - clean and crisp lines - with browns, whites and plum colors predominately. 

 

Near the center of the hotel is a beautiful pool area (outdoor, heated) with plenty of deck chairs and places to relax including an outdoor whirlpool tub and chairs surrounding a fire pit. The room rate includes a deluxe continental breakfast served in their breakfast room, parking, wireless internet, and morning newspaper.

 

What I like about this place most is that it is really well put together. They really took their time during the remodeling stage to consider what their guest (many of them on a romantic holiday) would like from a Monterey hotel.
