Intercontinental Hotel

Located right on Cannery Row in the heart of Monterey's most vibrant area, the Intercontinental the Clement is the newest hotel in the area. After decades of planning, the hotel opened its doors in the Summer of 2008 and has been receiving rave reviews ever since. If you have been coming to Monterey for a while and are looking for a change, you must check out this hotel! From the moment you step into their large, but comfortable lobby and library area - with tremendous ocean views and fireplace - you will feel at ease.

 

The hotel reminds us of one of the trendy hotels you might find in San Francisco. Guest rooms are decorated with more of a minimalist design - clean and crisp with muted colors and handsome furnishings. You can choose from rooms with full ocean views (parts of the hotels are right on the waters edge) and Cannery Row views. All guest rooms feature bathrobes, beautiful bathrooms with granite countertops, tubs (some jetted), some fireplaces, satellite 37 inch plasma TV, ipod docking station, refrigerator, coffee maker and wi-fi access. A complimentary newspaper is delivered right to your door and room service is available. There is even a little sand "zen garden" with rake placed in each room and some rooms feature a private balcony.

 

Within walking distance of the hotel are plenty of great restaurants (including their own "C" Restaurant - which the locals frequent - always a good sign), the Monterey Bay Aquarium, beaches, shops, walking trails and nightlife. If you are looking at being in an area where something is always going on, the Intercontinental is a great place to stay. The hotel features a small, outdoor heated pool, whirlpool, spa facility, on site baby sitting services, and fitness center.
