Santa Barbara Inn

      The Santa Barbara Inn has undergone quite a transformation since our last visit just a couple of years ago. This has more of a feel of a boutique hotel - with long, palm lined corridors leading to guest rooms and out towards the large pool deck - but with personalized services and attractive amenities. One of the best features of this hotel is its location - right across the street from the beach and within either a brisk walk (just under 1 mile) or short shuttle ride (25 cents) in to downtown. You can easily walk to East Beach or even to the Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens or Bird Refuge.

     You will definitely get a good nights sleep -- guest rooms each have featherbeds with 500 thread count linens (typical hotel is closer to 200 threads), down comforters and even down pillows. The rooms are decorated with a Tahitian style garden theme - which blends well with the palms that line the beach. Rooms have handsome wood furnishings with beautiful draperies and bed valances. Each room includes a mini-refrigerator, luxurious terry robes and complimentary bottled water. Many rooms have outstanding ocean views and first floor rooms can spill right out on to the pool and outdoor whirlpool. All rooms have either a balcony or a patio. There are also two very large ocean view suites.

      Guest room rates include a light continental breakfast as well as wireless internet access. If you are looking for a larger style hotel with some charm and a great location across from the beach, you will certainly enjoy the Santa Barbara Inn.
