     The first thing that has to be said about this hotel is that when you enter your guest room for the first time, your jaw will drop.      A member of the exclusive Preferred Boutique Hotels, the Dolphin Bay Resort  has a total of 62 large, one bedroom and two bedroom villas. When you get to your guest room you will already know something is different as the door itself is a beautiful solid wood door with decorative molding around the sides. When you walk in to your suite, it is as if you are coming home to your luxury penthouse. There are custom-made wood cabinets, granite counter tops and a full gourmet kitchen (not a tiny cook-for-yourself kitchen - but a kitchen that you can entertain a small gathering).  Each bedroom is decorated with a warm and handsome decor and includes high thread designer linens, beautiful bathrooms (with Tommy Bahama bath amenities) and even a walk-in closet.

     The living room area of the suite features travertine flooring and woven wool carpeting, custom furniture, plasma tv's with surround sound, DVD players (complimentary DVD library) and ipod docking stations. Open up another door and there is even a washer/dryer -- all in one unit. Some rooms also have a fireplace and Aire Jet tubs and all rooms have either a private patio or a balcony (many with great ocean views). They truly have thought of everything to make for a comfortable and romantic home away from home experience (including having their concierge pre-stock your kitchen if you wish!)

     The hotel itself offers beautiful grounds (Palm trees, lots of colorful flowers and shrubs), ocean views, an outdoor infiniti saline pool and jetted tub, Fireside Grill (weather permitting and seasonal), Full service spa, and a renowned gourmet restaurant and bar. For your convenience (and fun), they offer complimentary use of their resort bikes and access to a fitness center with cardiovascular and strength-training machines.

     A couple of quick notes: If you are traveling with another couple, people will often share a two bedroom suite or if you are entertaining in town, their Penthouse Suite (2200 sq ft) is an all ocean front grand unit with an exceptionally large gourmet kitchen and plenty of seating areas.
